This is one way to beat "The man". In this case, how to beat the monopoly rights.
Here is my tribute to one of the most influential and iconic players in the modern era of basketball. Some may say that my praise is superfluous. If you see the emergence of point guards in the NBA today, who can you say they had all looked up to and modeled their craft after? Allen Iverson was not perfect on or off the court. He didn't win a championship ring. Iverson's influence on the NBA, whether being the catalyst to the now widely embraced dress code policy, his on court apparel (style), individuality, his anti-establishment persona that ot hers could relate to, or the new generation of players, all supercedes what he didn't manage to capture as far as personal accolades. I remember looking forward to Saturday afternoons to watch nationally televised Georgetown games, to see the player that I had idolized. That a lot of us idolized. Excited to see what he would do next, anticipating his jump to the NBA to see what he could do against the likes of Michael Jordan and Grant Hill. He played with such style and fearlessness. An underrated physical specimen. An athletic freak. The way Iverson left the game was not one that most of us had imagined when he first entered the league. His strong belief in himself outweighed his stubbornness to accept a lesser role to accomplish what most professional athletes hope to attain before the end of their careers. An NBA Rookie of the Year, NBA MVP, 4 time scoring champion, 11 time All-star, 2 time NBA All-star game MVP, 3 time steals leader, 7 time All-NBA team are all accomplishments Iverson will take from the game he seemed to give so much to, despite critics. Here's to you Mr. Allen Ezail Iverson. You're simply the best "little" man to ever grace the stage of the NBA. Salute #3. I love this guy's shirt, and am I able to get my hands on one!? The utmost sign of respect for Raptors GM, Masai Uriji. Let's see how he'll handle the Kyle Lowry situation this offseason. Will he be able to offer Lowry a Paul Millsap type deal (2yrs - $20 million)? Coach Thibs sharing a rather "healthy" laugh with Jeff Van Gundy on ESPN A recent article about the top shooting guards in the post Jordan era inspired this post of perhaps the best in-game dunker of all time, Vince Carter. Watch the video to see Vince at his best. Which is your favorite Vince Carter dunk (with exception of him leaping over the 7 foot Frenchman in the Olympics)? The New York Knicks lost another close game to a good team at the Madison Square Garden, in the Dallas Mavericks, 110 -108 by way of a miraculous game winning shot by the Great Nowitski. I've heard about adding some "English" to the ball. Dare I say that Dirk put a little "German" on this one?!
